I did attend WWDVC 2023, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience (despite having no luggage for the entirety of the event).
I continue to tell people that Monday's sessions impacted me the most. Hearing about the business side of Data Vault taught me new ways to work with the business, and it has given me greater confidence in collaborative efforts with the business to build the best possible solution for each business use case.
Language, when dealing with the business, matters. They don't care about hubs, links, satellites, facts or dimensions. They just want to know that YOU understand their needs and are able to deliver the information they desire quickly and effectively.
Another excellent aspect of the conference is the networking and building friendships. You finally get to meet people face to face, and I believe that makes a huge difference in how you interact with them. I still find it strange to say that I actually told Bill Inmon a dad joke, and of course, his groaned response did not disappoint! Haha...
Finally, I am going on record saying that I, sadly, did not stock up on maple syrup while there. I would have had no way to bring it home with me...
